Express logistics services

The distribution of temperature-sensitive, fresh product to convenience stores is a time-critical business. From order placement to store, delivery must be achieved in less than 20 hours.

GRV Agro Products has developed specialist capability in this sector. Distribution services are provided to over 450 convenience stores in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland in metropolitan and rural locations, 365 days a year. To achieve this, GRV Agro Products has developed cross-dock and flow-through processes and a variety of picks specifically designed for shorter shelf life products. These complement storage and bulk pick solutions designed to reduce inbound delivery costs.

IT systems

GRV Agro Products aims to add value to customers' businesses with IT enabled logistics, enhanced efficiency and reduced operating costs.

The Swire Warehouse Inventory Management System (SWIMS) provides the link between every cold store across Australia. Equally importantly, SWIMS B2B capability means that GRV Agro Products can interface with its customers' IT systems to deliver a seamless flow of real time information. SWIMS has been developed to be compatible with international standard packages including SAP, BPCS, JDE, MfgPro and Movex, and custom applications can also be developed.

GRV Agro Products's IT department works with individual customer's IT teams to create solutions that meet specific business needs. Electronic purchase orders, purchase order acknowledgements, advanced shipping notices, and serial shipping container code labelling of pallets are all generated electronically.
